A Magical Experience for your Pupils 7th-11th December
This year due to building works Victorian Christmas is moving from Gawthorpe Hall to Helmshore Mills Textile Museum with new activities to suit this unique historic site.
This special events week will allow pupils to experience how rich and poor Victorians celebrated Christmas through interactive activities brought to life by costumed characters. The session is made up of four workshops running simultaneously, sing traditional carols, make decorations and find out first-hand how the Mill Workers enjoyed the festivities. Pupils will also meet Father Christmas to hear stories and discover what Victorian children would have found in their stockings on Christmas Day.
We are now taking bookings for this event and places are filling up quickly. Session can be booked by calling Helmshore Mills Textile Museum on 01706 226459. Sessions last two hours and are available in the morning 10-12 or afternoon 12.30-2.30. The cost is £4.00 per LCC pupil and £4.50 non LCC.
We can take up to 80 pupils per session. Small groups are welcome but please be aware that depending on the number attending pupils from different schools/organisations may be included in the same group.
Apologies but during this event we cannot offer lunch facilities on site.
